Volunteers
Thank you for your interest in becoming a Flower Mound Public Library Volunteer! We are always very happy to have someone from the community come to help us.
There are a few items that need to be considered before you fill out an application:
- Application needs to be filled out and returned to the Information Desk.
- References will be checked first.
(*All Volunteers: The Town of Flower Mound submits a background check in advance of volunteering) - Court Mandated Community Service is not offered at the library.
- Applicant should be fifteen years of age and attending high school.
- Applicant will be required to attend an orientation meeting prior to volunteering.
- Applicant will be assigned two hours total at each time.
- Applicant will be assigned various duties which can include: shelving, reading shelves, magazines, etc. It will vary each time dependent on the needs of the library.
- Applicant should call the library (972.874.6165) when not able to attend scheduled time. Volunteer assignments can be revoked if the applicant does not email/call to let the volunteer coordinator know they will not be able to attend their assigned time.
- Applicant will be asked to determine the day, time, and commitment that they are able to offer. The library will try to fulfill all requests.
Please feel free to contact the Volunteer Coordinator at 972.874.6200 if you have any further questions.
Looking forward to working with you.
